The landscape was closing the SMALS legacy monitoring and building the new monitoring only with OpenSource tools based on a Kubernetes architecture.

The scope obserbavility was really huge with more than 15 000 VMs, 150 kubernetes nodes, hundred DBs, thousands of webservices

I have started on the LEGACY stack which was mainly divided in 3 stages and coded mainly in JAVA/Groovy but some scripts were working also in PERL, Python and Bash.

LEGAY SYSTEM: Responsible of the stack

I was L4 and: one troubleshooting per week including sometimes weekend and nights.

- Responsible of backup: Percona provisiong in NFS on LINUX, scripting

- Responsible of automation: CI/CD done with gitlab runners, Rundeck

- Responsible of the databases performance: MySQL management, Grafana

- Responsible of the AWS Pilot project: EKS with a Prometheus server fetcher

NEW SYSTEM: SCRUM MASTER

- identifying the blockers: the lack of skills or ressources, management opposition

- documenting the project: JIRA, Confluence, Gitlab

- debuging some development: Kubernetes, gitlab runners, Rundeck, PostgreSQL, django framework

- development: deployment based on CSV in Python
